Vero is just another pretty data silo, isn’t it? No way to get data out, no way to connect it to other tools.
(It also doesn’t work very well. I try to upload a photo, what I get is “POST SEND FAILED.” Numpties.)

@lostfocus Yeah, and as you mentioned, a terribly built one at that.

@mikehaynes I don’t quite get why it is suddenly such a thing.

@tibz Yeah, I’ve seen it.

@lostfocus Given the strange timing of people signing up all at once, I would have to believe that Vero very recently threw money at some major IG users to advertise which got people to suddenly take notice of it.

@mikehaynes Sounds like a reasonable theory.

@mikehaynes Going with word-of-mouth in general. I’ve seen a lot of talk of Vero here and on Twitter, though not much (if any) on IG.

@Sylari For a while IG stories was full of “Follow me on Vero” posts for me. Nothing happened there since then, though and most people still happily post to Instagram.

@lostfocus Maybe a window of time that worked strangely in IG’s non-chronological presentation and I didn’t get on during that time. Plus, they could have found it out and adjusted their algorithm in there somewhere. MH-ONiB

@Sylari That’s interesting. Most of the mentions of Vero I’ve seen have been artists on IG wanting to jump ship. It’s really all about who you follow.

@mikehaynes That sounds like what I saw on Twitter. Yes, who you follow. Here, just meta discussion, not really seeing anyone use it or drop it — just that others have.
