LostFocus

Hi, I'm Dominik Schwind, friend of the internet. Here is /now.

There are a couple of ways you can follow me around on the internet. The prefered way would probably be with a feed reader - here is my RSS feed.

If you need more direct access, you can follow me here with Mastodon or similar sites: @dominik@nona.social. You can also follow this blog via @dominik@lostfocus.de.

I never know how to start these. For my other weekly thing – which is my newsletter, if you’re new here – I found something. For these weekly updates, not so much. For a while I’ve been wondering if I should just combine these things, but to be honest – these ones here are mostly for myself and I don’t have any kind of illusions that someone else reads them.

I (finally?) got myself an Echo, which is now sitting in my kitchen, happily sending all my coffee making and cooking noises to some server in the US. Since I do track my coffee intake (in the easiest way possible – by counting cups, completely ignoring the size or type of coffee) I thought it would be fun to teach the Echo a simple command to add another coffee to my counter. Turns out this is not as easy as I thought it would be.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
