@lostfocus This convinced me that there should be a urbandictionary.co.au

@odd absolutely. I’m listening to the Australian podcast Do Go On – I’m learning a lot of Aussie slang from that one.

@lostfocus I’m going to give it a listen. I may pick something up on Hemispheric Views, but since it’s Am-Aus, they usually tone the slang down.

@lostfocus Do Go On is one of my fav podcasts — also Dave Warneke’s book podcast is pretty rad, too!

@lostfocus @odd If you want I can tone up my Aussie slang in my posts. Here, how’s this?
Meeting a few cobbas in town tomorrow arvo for a tinny and a laugh. Ought to be a bloody ripper. Better not get smashed or my boss will be ropable.

@lmika Haha, I think I got the gist of it, but I don’t think I would understand it if you just said it to my face. I for some reason try to channel my inner Crocodile Dundee when trying to verbalize it. 🇦🇺

@lmika @odd @lostfocus Haha, don’t forget “Starn the crows, mate!” 😉 Honestly, I’m impressed by people who can launch into fluent Strine, because I just… can’t 🙈 My parents can (but only do in jest) and I can mostly understand it, but it’s just not a way I’m capable of speaking, haha
